Local man hits Take Five
Bought $50,000 winning ticket at the Flanders Deli on Route 24   0 comments below

A Riverhead man has won almost $50,000 after purchasing a winning lottery ticket from Flanders Deli and Grocery, state officials said.

The winner, who requested his name not be published, purchased the $48,097 ticket at the Flanders Road deli for the Jan. 29 Take Five drawing. The man selected all five numbers correctly, winning first prize in the daily drawing. The winning numbers were 6, 9, 17, 26 and 28.

Take Five players select five numbers between one and 39; the chances of matching all five correctly are one in 575,757. The numbers are drawn every night at 11:21 p.m.
